What is Infinum Health?

Infinum Health offers traditional family medicine delivered through a direct primary care model; a model of health care that is immediate, comprehensive, affordable, and very personal.

What is Direct Primary Care?

Direct primary care (DPC) practices don’t accept insurance but rather work directly with the patient. By cutting out the insurance companies, we can keep prices very low, provide wholesale labs and prescription pricing too. That’s right – many popular prescriptions are available through our office so no additional pharmacy stop is needed! This healthcare model is patient-driven so expect to be treated when you need it and without being rushed through your appointment. We limit our practice size to 500 whereas a traditional practice requires 2,500- 3,000 patients to pay the bills from more paperwork, staffing, and other costs.

What sets Infinum Health apart from other practices?

Accessibility, affordability, convenience. Because we have cut the red tape of bureaucracy, we are able to spend our time where it counts: with patients. We are returning family practice medicine to its root values of compassionate knowledge and clinical excellence for every patient.

Infinum Health is committed to treating the whole person. When the mind, body, and spirit are healthy, and conditions are permissive, the body is capable of incredible self-healing and maintenance. We strive to maximize this innate ability through rational treatment and understanding of the mind/body/spirit interrelationships and how they affect the function of the individual. Osteopathic manipulation and hydrotherapy make our practice truly unique in providing multimodal therapies to help you achieve your health goals.

What is osteopathic medicine?

Osteopathic medicine provides all the benefits of modern medicine including prescription drugs, surgery, and the use of technology to diagnose disease and evaluate injury. It also offers the added benefit of hands-on diagnosis and treatment through a system of treatment known as osteopathic manipulative medicine. Osteopathic medicine emphasizes helping each person achieve a high level of wellness by focusing on health promotion and disease prevention.

Does Infinum Health accept health insurance?

We are happy to report we do not. It is estimated 40% of money spent in primary care is wasted on the insurance billing process. We think that money can be put to better use.

Our practice focuses on a direct, personal relationship between doctor and patient. We don’t believe insurance companies have your best interest at heart, and we don’t think they should be making medical decisions for you or us. So, we just cut them out. Additionally, our direct fee-for- service arrangement frees us from the normal contractual agreements that prevent physicians from offering wholesale prices on medications, lab tests, and imaging.

As a patient of Infinum Health, will I still need health insurance?

It is not required but we strongly recommend that our clients continue to carry both a major medical plan with a high deductible and a health savings account. This will ensure financial help if referral to a specialist or hospitalization should ever be necessary.

If I have Medicare, can I still join Infinum Health?

Yes. You need only sign a one-time waiver declaring that neither you nor your doctor will directly bill Medicare for our services. Medicare will still cover any laboratory testing, imaging, medications, or hospitalizations prescribed by our office.

Can children become members of Infinum Health?

Absolutely. We happily accept and look forward to working with children (birth to 18 years of age) of our enrolled clients. At this time, we are not able to provide routine vaccinations for young children, but we can work with you to arrange these.

Is my membership to Infinum Health tax deductible?

Unfortunately, no. Your retainer is not yet defined as a “medical expense” in most states and as such is not deductible. Please confer with your tax consultant to clarify tax implications in your particular circumstances.

Can I contact my provider after hours? And how?

By all means, yes! Because illness and injury do not respect regular office hours, you may call your physician any day, at any hour. We invite you to arrange for home visits, schedules permitting. If you prefer, you may also use our secure patient portal to access your medical record and then e-mail your physician. It’s how we do custom healthcare.

Are my medical records ever shared with insurance carriers or pharmaceutical companies?

We maintain scrupulous standards of privacy. We are never obligated to provide any third party with a copy of your records unless you specifically ask that we do so.

What happens if I need to go to the hospital or see a specialist?

In providing superb care with unprecedented access, we strive to prevent or reduce hospitalizations and specialty referrals. However, when those types of care are required, we will certainly continue to work with your hospitalist during your hospital stay as well as work with any specialists.

Can I benefit from Infinum Health if I don’t require frequent medical attention?

Absolutely. Congrats on your health! Our role would be to keep you healthy by providing preventative annual wellness exams. Predicting what life may throw at you can be difficult, and illness is not usually planned. If you should get thrown a “curveball,” we will be here to get you back on track quickly.
